Well I just have read the book and watched the movie and I think that it is a good story!!! Because it has a lot of secrets and mystery!!!
The movie and the book are almost the same, the movie have more details that are more interesting.
One of the differences between the text and the movie is that in the book the author didn’t mention to the Basil Hallward´s niece, Gladys. In the movie Dorian Gray met to Gladys when she was about 5 years, and after a few years, many years after the die of Sybil Vane, Gladys was still in love with Dorian, but although Dorian propose her, she didn’t get married with him because Dorian killed himself when he tried just to destroy the picture. The book talk about a poor woman the was in love with Dorian and Dorian with this woman, but Dorian refused to stay with her because he wanted to change and be a good person.
Another difference is that when Dorian was going to married with Sybil Vane, in the movie he put a trap, he want to now if she was really saint as he thought, but Sybil failed and Dorian left her, after that she died. In the book Dorian didn’t want to married her because in one of the plays that she interpret, she failed to Dorian because she interpret to Juliet very bad and Lord Henry told Dorian that she wasn’t an Actress so Dorian left her only because Lord Henry didn’t like her.
I think that the movie and the book are a good job! Because the both are so interested, and the end is the same!
I like a lot the paper of Dorian Gray because at the beginning he a good person but in the moment that he met Lord Henry and listened to him he started to change.
